Mrs. Mary Pratt Quantz

Mrs. John Quantz, the former Mary Pratt was born in "the salt box" in London, England. she was eleven years old when she came to Innisfil about 1834 with her parents, John Pratt (1792-1861) and Ann Smith (1801-1851). John Pratt gave the land from his farm for St. Paul's church and cemetery.

Mrs. Mayme Black

Photo of Margaret "Mayme" Elizabeth Black, taken outside of her own home in Stroud. Mayme was born in 1885, married Oswald R. Black in 1919, and died in 1966. Both her maiden and married surnames were Black as her husband was a relation from a different branch of the pioneering Black family of Innisfil. Mayme was the daughter of James Black and Mary Lennox, granddaughter of Robert Black and Margaret Booth, and great-granddaughter of James Black and Mary Latimer, who emigrated to Innisfil from Dungannon Ireland in 1847. She was a regular contributor to the Stroud news. She is pictured here in 1921 with dark hair wearing a light coloured cardigan and inspecting some flowers growing next to her house, IHS1472
