Soldiers From Simcoe County
Photograph scanned from the Barrie Examiner newspaper depicting a group of soldiers from the front, likely during World War I. The original caption was: "The above group of some Simcoe soldiers has reached The Examiner from the firing line. They are from left to right as follows: Top Row- Geo. Purchase, Geo. This is a Soldiers Memorial Monument, it is next to the Anglican Church (1977 now hidden by the maple trees). A maple tree was planted for each of the soldiers who died in the war., IHS1771
