: Arthur Jack; Image of Arthur Jack in uniform, taken in 1917. He was the son of John and Edith Jack (Née Dalby), and was the father of Locklan, Ian, Colin and Arthur Jr.Arthur was a soldier in the First World War - note the puttees (strips wrapped around his leg bandage). Regimental #250042, Private A.B. Jack, Canadian Expeditionary Force 4th army on 18 August 1918 accompanied by Pte. I.D. Ross on a routine patrol near Hammonwood, France came upon 43 German soldiers manning 5 machine guns. Jack and Ross captured this outpost, destroyed the machine guns and took the German soldiers prisoners.For this action Jack and Ross were both awarded the Military Medal (second highest award for gallantry in combat), on 11 October 1918. : Averill House; Image of a stone house built in 1860. The house was built in two sections on the site of an early log house. Two pioneer families owned this farm, the Averills and the Kells. The house was originally owned by Thomas Averill and his family, until it was left vacant for many years. It was later owned by William M. Kell and son Stephen. The original flooring was dirt but was replaced with stonework, by hand, many years later., IHS 4175

: Baker Home, Hamilton Street; Image suspect to be taken around 1930 of the Baker home. The house was owned by Mr. Norma Baker and Mrs. Alice Baker, and was located on Hamilton Street in Cookstown. The image appears to have been taken during winter, as there is snow on the ground and trees surrounding the property.

: Bakers' Collectibles; Image taken in 1979 of some of the Baker family collectibles. Alice Baker set out some of the original set of dishes she had when she and Norman were married. In 1981, the dishes of Cloverleaf pattern are collectibles. In the image there are egg cups and tea stand, dinner plate, tea plate, cup and saucer, bone handle knife, plain fork and spoon and tea pot stand.

: Barn Raising; Image taken of a barn raising in Innisfil Township. It is suspected that it took place on Jim Leonard's land. In the image, men can be seen raising the walls on a stone foundation. There is a crowd of women watching by a wooden fence. Rolling Innisfil hills can be seen in the background. Barn raising was often a community event - the act of raising the barn was completed by men, as women prepared a meal for them to enjoy once they finished., IHS84
